Inside this Issue:
Choosing bariatric surgery is a very important step to a healthier you. It involves a detailed process within our bariatric program. The following steps will help guide you through this process.
1. Attend an Information Seminar (to Register online click here)
We provide free, weekly seminars in both English and Spanish. Here you will learn about the health risks regarding morbid obesity, the procedures we offer, and the potential risks and complications involved. These seminars are conducted by Dr. de la Cruz-Muñoz himself and will give you the opportunity to hear firsthand patient testimonials as well as meet some of our team members. See our seminar calendar and register for one today!
2. Insurance Coverage
We are your best resource for dealing with your health insurance. Because employers who offer coverage vary by state and carrier, we need to verify your individual policy. At our seminar, or by calling our office directly, please provide us with your detailed insurance information so that we may check for your bariatric coverage. Our expert insurance verification team can have an answer for you by the end of the day. Once we establish insurance coverage, we will confirm their exact requirements. All insurance plans require a history of medically supervised weight loss attempts.
3. Initial Appointment with Dr. Nestor de la Cruz-Muñoz
You will meet with Dr. De la Cruz-Muñoz at your initial appointment in our office. Together, you will go over your past medical history and decide if bariatric surgery is right for you. You will also be scheduled to meet with our Nutritionist and Psychologist. Dr. De la Cruz will also determine what medical work-up you will be required to complete before your surgery.
