Give new habits time to become your new norm.


Changing habits can be difficult and require a lot of dedication. Studies show that it can take up to 66 days to form a new habit. This may surprise you. Yet if you have truly tried to break a habit and succeeded, you know this makes a great deal of sense.


So, here’s the trick. Stay focused. When you get off track, try not to get discouraged. Just get right back on. The shorter your recovery time the better. So if you overindulged, just move on.  Don’t fall into the old ‘I will restart tomorrow or worse, on Monday’!


Give yourself time to turn that habit into your new norm. Stick with it, and in time your new habits will become second nature.
