This idea will help kick start your walking program.
Many times, people make a pledge to themselves or family members for increased exercise, walking more, running more, etc. To kick start your program and stay on track, set your goals and look around for those 3 K, 5 K or 10 K walks in your area and register now for that event. Grab a buddy, friend or those from support group and do it together. Having more than one person participating helps to keep each other motivated and committed. Making that pledge and commitment provides an expectation of adhering to your plan and you begin processing a training routine and goals so that you can achieve your pledge to fitness.
