Our Weight and Wellness Program for Bariatric Surgery Patients is a multifaceted team of healthcare professionals that understand there is more to sustained weight loss than just the surgical procedure. This program is coordinated by Dr. Raymond G. Lau.
ENDOCRINOLOGIST
Raymond G. Lau finished his fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Winthrop University Hospital. He began his studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a Bachelor of Science in both chemistry and biology. Dr. Lau then pursued his medical degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He continued his post-graduate medical training at Stony Brook University Hospital and is board certified in internal medicine. After completion of his residency medical training, he pursued a subspecialty in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Winthrop University Hospital. After being involved in research with the Winthrop Bariatric Surgery department during his subspecialty training, he signed on as a full time endocrinologist within the division. He is both a member of American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society. He has presented at both national and regional meetings.
