Navigating Towards Your Goals

With the holidays behind us, what are your New Year’s resolutions? Wait... what do you mean you don’t have any? Well, no time better than the present to get started.
When going on a road trip, you set your navigation system, go to MapQuest or your phone app to figure out the best way to get to where you’re going.


You daily life also needs direction. Think of what you would like to accomplish in the year ahead; write it down, prioritize your list with a time frame and begin to visualize the success of your end result.


As you know, most corporations have a business plan and meetings to discuss what they would like to achieve in the coming year. If you would allow yourself to set up your personal life the same way, you will be amazed at how much more you can accomplish with a little direction. It allows you to stay focused and keep your eye on the end result you wish to achieve.
If you don’t have a plan, it‘s very easy for you to get lost and lose sight of the end result you want to achieve. Now is the time to reflect on last year. What was it that you wanted to do that you never got around to either starting or completing? What are the new goals you would like to achieve this year?
You wouldn’t begin your week without checking your calendar to see what appointments you have and the same thing should apply with your life. Once you get good at this, daily goals may be accomplished which will ensure your success of reaching your yearly goals.
Write your list of goals for the year ahead, prioritize them with a completion date, visualize how it feels once you’ve completed your goals and if you are really ambitious, make a vision board for the year ahead. Post images and phrases that will remind you of the goals you have set. Once you establish your routine, you will be on your way to navigating yourself to finding and realizing your goals.
