How exercise affects body weight is one of the most intriguing health issues for patients after surgery. Exercise burns calories, no doubt about that, but without significantly changing your diet, few succeed.
But, many people find it challenging to exercise. For some it is a matter of not having enough time in their busy schedule, while for others health concerns may exist. Evidence suggests that performing several short bouts of low intensity physical activity throughout the day may provide some health benefits. This type of physical activity is referred to as Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis or NEAT. Organized exercise programs should not be excluded, however. Adding NEAT to your daily routine can help you burn a few of those excess calories. The NEAT concept can be used to assist with weight loss and weight maintenance goals. By utilizing the NEAT principal you can burn up to 300 plus calories per day.
