Bucket List or Procrastination?

Each year just seems to go by faster and faster. Children are back in school and Halloween is just around the corner. How often have you said you’re going to do this or that and it just seems to get put on the back burner? I don’t know about you, but this past year I have lost so many dear friends and it makes you stop and think; what are we waiting for.
This holds true in all parts of your postoperative life. You know that phrase, don’t do today, what you can put off until tomorrow? Why not change that and just do it today, rather than put it off until tomorrow, so you can enjoy the rest of your life. Make that bucket list and you’ll be amazed at how many things you can cross off each week, month and year. The first step is to create the dream, write it down and then just do it, one step at a time.
The past is gone; there is nothing you can do to change it. The future exists only in our thoughts. What we have is the present, and the present is a “gift”. Enjoy it each and every day.
When you get so focused on work, without making time for friends, family and yourself it’s time to step back and say, I need to make some changes. Sure you need to earn a living, but it is equally important to have time for yourself and your family. It’s time to start that bucket list and really live, laugh and love!
Most of you who have had surgery, have a totally new outlook on life and enjoy each and every day much more now since you have improved quality of life. You might consider taking this opportunity to go one step further and gently urge or suggest to friends and family that have been thinking about the surgery, but ‘never got around to it’, that now is the time to consider having bariatric surgery. Sometimes encouragement is all someone needs to say, “You’re right, I’m going to call the doctor and just finally do it!”
