Naresh Ahuja, MD, FASMBS
Dr. Ahuja performs bariatric and all advanced laparoscopic/robotic gastrointestinal surgeries. He has been helping patients achieve their weight-loss goals since 2008 and has helped several hundred patients to recover their stolen lives. Dr. Ahuja has developed and served as Medical Director of New Life Weight Loss Center at Herrin Hospital. He completed his internship, residency and trauma research fellowship at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. Dr. Ahuja subsequently earned his fellowship in Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery at University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery (ABS), fellow with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and fellow with the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

Deepu Sudhakaran, MD
Dr. Sudhakaran is a fellowship trained advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon. He completed a general surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, followed by fellowships in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Greenville Hospital System/University of South Carolina in Greenville, S. C., and trauma critical care at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
In addition to procedures offered through New Life Weight Loss Center, Dr. Sudhakaran performs all types of advanced laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgeries, including Nissen fundoplication, hiatal/paraesophageal, inguinal and complex ventral hernias, colectomy, and endocrine surgeries, as well as upper endoscopies.
Amy Goetz, PA-C
Physician Assistant Amy Goetz holds a B.S. from Southern Illinois University's Physician Assistant Program (2006, Cum Laude). Her education is supported by four years of experience at Southern Illinois Pain Management in Marion, Ill. She understands the whole of patient care, assessing patients' response to multiple and often concurrent therapies including medication management, interventional therapies and psychological counseling.
Amy Goetz is a Licensed Physician Assistant in the state of Illinois and is recognized by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants. She is ACLS, BLS, and AED certified. She is also a member of the Southern Illinois Physician Assistants Chapter.
